Greenville is the largest city in Pitt County.  The current population of Greenville is over 80,000.  The city has emerged as one of the hubs for commerce in Eastern North Carolina.  Greenville has had a long and storied history beginning with its founding in the 1700′s.  It is poised to grow into the 21st century.

The growth of Greenville looks strong going into the future.  It is fortunate to be home to the third largest and fastest growing university in North Carolina, East Carolina University.  The growth of East Carolina University, or ECU as it is locally known, has helped fuel the growth of the city around it.  In addition to the growth of ECU, Greenville and Pitt County have seen the growth, Pitt Community College.

As the college and town has grown, fortunately so has the local medical programs.  Greenville is fortunate to be home to the third largest hospital in North Carolina, Pitt County Memorial.  The hospital currently provides over 860 beds and has some excellent collaborations with the local school of medicine and University Health Systems.

The city of Greenville is also fortunate to be home to a world class convention center. The Greenville Convention Center offers over 75,000 square feet of meeting space.  This beautiful facility is spread over 32 acres and holds claim to the largest meeting facility east of 95.  For ease the campus is also adjoined by 3 hotels with over 430 rooms.
